The Taevin S. Lewis Memorial Scholarship is a tribute to our fallen but far from forgotten sister. Taevin's light shined too bright to ever be extinguished.
Taevin Lewis overcame many obstacles in her life. Things were rarely easy, but one thing that remained constant - Taevin was going to fight. She beat unfavorable odds and accomplished every dream she had for herself. Before turning 27 years of age, Taevin became a Doctor of Occupational Therapy by way of being the first graduate of the Washington University/Harris-Stowe State University Occupational Therapy Partnership Program. Harris-Stowe State is a historically black college/university (HBCU) in St. Louis, MO. Washington University in St. Louis is one of the top occupational therapy programs in the country.
In addition to achieving her dream of being a doctor of occupational therapy , Taevin also enjoyed a successful career as a runway model. Before this, and even before graduating from Harris-Stowe, she was a member of the dance team for the illustrious Howard University. Our sister was an incredible inspiration. This scholarship will continue her legacy.
