The WolfPack Group was conceived in 2011 in Memphis, TN by 11 working-class kids who had one thing in common: a love for their communities. Growing up in Memphis, TN takes many things - courage, grit, integrity - but most of all, it takes a village. Our group comes from a variety of backgrounds, but we all experienced the village our respective communities provided. Without those villages there may have never been a Wolfpack Group. It's that aspect of growing up in Memphis, TN that cannot be trivialized nor diminished. It is essential. We wanted to make sure that everybody felt the support of a village - even if we were the village's lone members.
Our first project was a school uniform/supply drive in 2012 that gave uniforms, backpacks, and supplies to an entire 1st Grade classroom in the underserved community of North Memphis. We saw the impact we made on those children and families, and at that point the love affair between The Wolfpack and the city of Memphis was on.
Over the next 7 years we would grow year over year, project after project. Each year we touched more families and more lives than the year before. However, we would soon find out how close we were as a family. Tragically, on New Year’s Day 2019 our only female member, Taevin Lewis, left us far too soon in a fatal car accident. With our sister in mind and heart, we pushed onward to have our two biggest years yet in 2020 and 2021. Our flagship project, A Christmas Toy/Food Drive, raised over $5000 in 2020; and 2021 saw us give gift baskets to 120+ nursing home residents in December.
Where we are today is a product of perseverance, commitment to our mission, and hunger. We love what we do. Always have and always will. Memphis is not only our home but our family as well; and family is forever!
